It is, in addition to an attractive exercise for any population, a way to attract an audience that is increasingly interested in these issues and with an intrinsic interest in this type of activities linked to the natural environment.
As reflected in the text of UNESCO, “The Right to the Dark Skies”:
“The right to dark skies has been recognized by UNESCO as an implicit right in the conservation of cultural and natural heritage for future generations according to the Declaration in Defence of the Night Sky and the Right to Starlight (2007). It is therefore a measure that supports sustainable development. All of these subjects were analysed with the vision and knowledge of experts at The Right to Dark Skies meeting. It was also significant that the venue of the meeting was the Centre of Digital Culture in Mexico City (Centro de Cultura Digital), for there is much art in dark skies. It is such a pleasure to see the Milky Way in the night sky!”
